First ever live performance of new song "Dagsmeja" posted on YouTube!

The only better thing than enjoying a new song from the band is watching a video of it! The for a YouTube video of the first ever live performance of a new composition entitled Dagsmeja has been posted in our VIDEO SECTION and also can be seen below. For those of you wondering about the meaning, it can be loosely translated to English as “When the snow starts to melt”. Amazing so much can be said with a single word in Swedish!

It’s a video of a single camera, but the video quality is excellent and the sound is also good. Remember you have to change the YouTube player resolution to enjoy it at full 4K quality.

Rained out performance during Cruise to the Edge 2017 posted on YouTube.

This is a video of the Änglagård's extra short first performance during Cruise to the Edge, once again cut short by the rain (As usual is also included in our VIDEO SECTION). This time around they managed to play two full songs (The night was super windy and messing up the flute's sounds as well) and just a fragment of a new composition never played live before and entitled "Dagsmeja".

My apologies for the crappy video sound, but the wind was implacable that night.

Cruise to the Edge 2017: A recap

It’s not a secret the band wasn’t specially lucky for the second time in a row. The first performance was scheduled to start at 11:45 PM and due to problems with the sound check it started way past midnight… and the mighty nature sent us the rain again… No one was ever happy after that (And “not happy” is kind of an understatement). The conditions were far from being ideal as it was also a super windy night and Anna was having the heck of a nightmare with the flute… but anyways, that’s water under the bridge now.

Next day the band played again, in the same stage, and they did a full set, despite it was shorter than the previous one would have been and they were closing the night before. It was also windy, but at least sunny and went down without major issues. The sound was also fairly good considering the outdoor venue, once again Alar Suurna managed to do some magic tricks for them to sound as good as possible.

For the rest of the experience, we had a blast. The moment when Thijs van Leer (Founding member of Focus, for those of you unfamiliar with the name) came down to the merch stage to tell the guys how much he had loved the set took the cake!. They were in heaven, specially Anna who loves Focus’ music (Don’t we all?). I was around and took some other candid shots, you might want to head out to the MEDIA SECTION to check them out.

Änglagård officially announces first ever live video recording "Änglagård Live: Made in Norway" to be released next February 10th, 2017

Legendary Swedish symphonic progressive rock band ÄNGLAGÅRD is proud to present their first ever professionally filmed concert, set to be released worldwide on February 10th, 2017. "Live: Made in Norway" was captured at Musikkflekken, Sandvika, Norway on February 21st, 2015, marking the band's return to Norway stages after an absence of 23 years.

Edited by Martin Gustafsson, with audio production and mixing by world renowned audio engineer Alar Suurna, and art design and production supervision by band’s long-time collaborator Joel Barrios, the two-hour performance is a stellar capturing of live art through and through; a perfect testimony of Änglagård's unique take on progressive rock, showcasing their swirling, angular crescendos along with frenetic rhythms and howling mellotron, blended with truly emotional sudden softer passages.

A sonic rollercoaster of aggressive music in odd meter, subtle parts and melancholic beauty, building suspense and abrupt stops, with a wondrous interplay of sounds, this visual presentation is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Änglagård's extreme level of delicacy in phrasing and dynamic is a tough match to beat in progressive music and should hold up even in the face of the snootiest of music connoisseurs.

A promotional video has made its debut in the Official Fan Community YouTube Channel. You can also watch it by visiting our VIDEO SECTION.

The news of Änglagård set to headline Gettysburg's ROSfest next year have spread and the highly revered online magazine Prog feature an article about it. The article also contains the first hints for the long-awaited follow-up to the band's 2012 album, in the words of our very own Johan Brand.

Johan said: “Everyone in Anglagard is writing music now – and very interesting music. We have a lot of ideas. I think it’s going to be a very interesting album with a lot of energy. Maybe we will do a triple album. Every member of the band gets one side of the album, so I get my own side for my own song and all the other members can contribute and add their feelings and special sounds. Like a concept album.”.
